Nursery Night Lights

Many parents think that a night light is an essential part of the nursery, after all, it helps you to see when you stumble in during the night for changes and feeds and can also help baby/toddler not to be scared of the dark.

A well-placed light can be helpful in those early stages – especially if you are in and out during the night.

But don’t place it too close to where your child is sleeping – it might be a distraction and interfere with their sleep.

So place it close to where you know you might need it – next to the changing table perhaps.

Choose a night light that has low wattage – you don’t want the light to be too bright – make sure it is shaded and diffused so that there is no glare.

Some parents find that a night light can be useful if a child feels anxious in the dark – helping them to feel calm when they are left alone.

A soft light in these circumstances can give some reassurance and comfort.
