Maternity Capsule Wardrobe

If you are looking to create a capsule wardrobe for your pregnancy, and have been finding it difficult knowing how to style your blossoming baby bump take a look at my other posts on building a capsule wardrobe during pregnancy.

I have been searching (in another post) for amazing finds for your capsule wardrobe during pregnancy, with key pieces that will see you through fall, winter and beyond.

I have selected some must-have items that will keep you looking amazing but are also easy to wear.

Here is a breakdown of what you will need to create a winter capsule wardrobe for those cold months…..

Layering Tops

Piling on the layers is always essential in the winter months, especially when your body temperature is fluctuating because of pregnancy.

To get into maternity layering, you should stock up on maternity t-shirts with various necklines, colours and styles. 100% cotton tops are always a good idea and are kind to your skin.

If you prefer a tighter fit, try a cotton blend with a bit of stretch.

It’s a good idea to buy extra long t-shirts too so that they can see you through into your second trimester.

Ponchos and Sweater Dresses

Ponchos are perfect for maternity winter dressing, as they are like wearing a huge cosy blanket!

They drape nicely around your body and baby bump.

Sweater dresses are also great for dressing your growing bump.

Jeans and Trousers

Maternity jeans are a must, but there are many other trousers and pants out there that are super stylish.

With many styles to choose from, including skinny cords and leather leggings, they can be a great way to look festive when paired with a smart top or even a basic tee.

Invest in something with a waist that can expand, so they can grow with you and you can get more for your money.

Styles with a full stretch panel can be really comfy and lycra will give you plenty of stretch.

Cardigans

Wrap up warm in an oversized cardigan, what could be cosier?

While lying on the sofa relaxing or going out for a coffee, an oversized cardigan is great for layering too.

Winter Coat

Something you will need is a warm winter coat.

From smart to casual there are so many looks you can go for.

Get something with a tie waist so that it will be able to grow with you and expand as your growing bump will.

Shirt Dress

A shirt dress will look great over leggings and can be layered.

Stylish yet comfortable the shirt dress is something you will be able to wear for work or for relaxing at the weekends.

Party Dress

At this time of the year having a party dress is a must-have!

Something glam for those parties and family soirees, dressed up with cute accessories.

Those red dresses have such a festive look!

Cute PJs

At Christmas you really need some cute PJs to wear.

From comfy cotton tops with long or short sleeves with matching pants, you can get a whole range in a variety of colours.

Plaid is a great look for the winter too.

Christmas Sweater

For the office parties or to wear at family gatherings, Christmas sweaters can be worn again and again!

Winter Boots

If you haven’t already, dig out those winter boots!

From the trusted old leather boots, shearling Uggs or snow boots, they are all convenient for this time of the year.

They will look great with your leggings, plus the warm Ugg shearling type boots can be worn without socks!

What are you wearing this winter?
