Where to go?

What about a Greek island?

Corfu

There are so many great places to visit in Greece that it is hard to narrow it down to a few places.

Of course, I must recommend that you visit the beautiful island of Corfu! This is where I live and it is such a great place to see.

There are also stunning islands close by that you can visit by boat, including Paxos and Antipaxos.

This summer has seen quite a few celebrities visiting including Will Smith and family, Keanu Reeves, Angelina Jolie and even Prince Charles and Camilla.

There are many superyachts moored here in Corfu Town with all sorts of rich and famous people visiting during the summer.

Paxos/Antipaxos

Paxos can be found 14 kilometres south of Corfu, 20 kilometres to the east is Parga on the mainland of Greece.

Paxos covers an area of some 19 square kilometres and is one of a cluster of picturesque small islands set in the Ionian Sea.

Paxos has no airport, can only be reached by ferry boat and therefore, has been able to protect itself from the strain of modern tourism.

Paxos is an island of endless olive groves and Anti Paxos one large vineyard.

Anti Paxos is famous for its white sandy beaches and stunning blue waters.

Santorini

Santorini is known for being a romantic destination.

Located in the Aegean Sea, in the Cyclades islands, Santorini island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in the world and what remains today is a submerged volcano and a caldera.

Amazing villages have been constructed on the edge of this caldera, with Cycladic architecture and a breathtaking view of the sea.

Apart from the fabulous caldera villages, Santorini Greece is also famous for the romantic sunset, the volcano and the luxurious resorts.

Mykonos

Popular with celebrities, students and families, this is Greece’s most famous cosmopolitan island, a whitewashed paradise in the heart of the Cyclades.

According to mythology, Mykonos was formed from the petrified bodies of giants killed by Hercules. In contrast to other Cycladic capitals, the capital town (Hóra) of the island is not built in the shape of an amphitheatre but instead spreads out over a wide area.

It is one of the best examples of Cycladic architecture and a spellbinding attraction for visitors.

Stroll around its narrow marble streets and admire whitewashed houses with colourful doors and window frames, bougainvillaea trees in purple bloom and hidden churches.

What to wear?

The idea behind creating a capsule wardrobe for your babymoon vacation is that you will take with you interchangeable pieces that can be mixed and matched.

You will be able to pack the basics and add a few key pieces.

By sticking to a capsule wardrobe, you will also be able to save money and buy more stuff for your baby!

In Greece, you will want to stay comfy and cool all day.

I have selected some must-have items that will keep you looking amazing but also easy to wear.

Here is a breakdown of what you will need to create a babymoon vacation capsule wardrobe for that much needed Greek vacation (hey > if it’s good enough for Will Smith, Tom Hanks, Madonna, Angelina Jolie and Keanu Reeves to name just a few, then Greece is the place to be!)……

Dresses

Take two dresses, one for the day and one for the night.

There are so many cool cotton dresses out there that would be perfect for the day, to stroll through narrow shopping streets or to have lunch by the sea.

For the evening, you could dress up your day dress with glam accessories or go for a different look with a floor-length maxi dress.

Maxi dress + tan + accessories = serious glam!

Tops

Take three to four tops with you, mixing and matching patterns with plain cotton.

Simple cotton vests will mix and match with both shorts and skirts.

Looser fitting tops will be perfect to keep you feeling cool in the heat.

Shorts

Take one pair of shorts – again so you can mix with different tops for the beach or to go out at night.

Skirts

Take one skirt that you can dress up or dress down.

A longer flowing skirt will be good for the beach or later when going out for dinner.

They also have a laid-back boho look, that is soo pretty!

Swimwear + Cover-Ups

Take one swimsuit or bikini to wear and a cover-up too.

From brights, patterns and neutrals, you will find something to suit your taste.

Bright cover-ups look stunning when paired with black swimwear and neutral accessories.

Accessories

Take a scarf/pashmina for a cover-up, jewellery, sunglasses and a hat.

A scarf will make sure you can cover up from the sun or later if it gets cooler.

Take some select pieces of jewellery to wear with your chosen capsule babymoon pieces.

Gorgeous sunglasses and a hat will keep you protected from the suns glare and looking stylish!

Bags

Take one bag for the beach and a bag for the evenings.

A large beach bag to carry all of your essentials could also double as a flight carry on or shopping bag (local jewellery and crafts? yes please!).

For the evening a smaller bag or clutch will do.

Black or tan will go with everything.

If your key pieces are neutrals, you could opt for a colourful clutch to add a juicy vacation pop of colour!

Shoes

Take one pair for the day and a sexier pair for at night.

Something comfortable to walk around in, like Birkenstocks or trainers.

If you are afraid of ruining your Birks on the beach (I know I am!) take a pair of flip-flops.

For the evening, take a pair of trendy gladiator flats.

They go with everything!

Skincare

Don’t forget to protect yourself from the sun with some high factor SPF!

The best I have tried recently have been Freezyderm second skin velvet face cream and body sprays sun protection in factor 50.

This can be bought online or from any Greek pharmacy.

The face creams I have tried previously, including Clinique, Clarins, Este Lauder, Ambre Solaire and Piz Buin have mostly been oily and have given me breakouts.

This one from Freezyderm, however, is non-oily and have been kind to my skin so far!

  1. My favourite place in Greece is Parga, I just love this little village with all its little cozy taverns and the great beaches nearby.
