Hurdle Stitch Knitting Pattern
You can use any yarn weight and needle size to try out this stitch pattern.
For a small sample swatch, I cast on 24 stitches and used worsted weight yarn with (US 8) 5 mm knitting needles.
Knitting Abbreviations
- Rep = Repeat
- K = Knit
- P = Purl
Hurdle Stitch
Knit flat (back and forth on two needles)
Cast on an even number of stitches.
Row 1 and 2: Knit all the sts.
Row 3 and 4: *K1, P1; repeat from * to end of row.
Repeat Rows 1-4.
Knit in the round (on circular needles)
Cast on an even number of stitches.
Round 1 (RS): Knit all sts.
Round 2: Purl all sts.
Round 3: *K1, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
Round 4: Repeat Round 3.
Repeat Rounds 1-4.
