FAQs & Tips

Can I use fewer colors?

Yes! It works beautifully in just 2 or 3 colors — or even all one shade for a minimalist look.

Can I use different weights of yarn?

You can, especially if they’re close (like DK and light worsted).

Just keep a consistent hook size or adjust the tension.

What size is the finished square?

This will vary depending on the yarn and hook used.

In worsted weight yarn with a 5mm/US H-8 hook, mine measured approximately 5.5″ (14 cm) square after blocking.

Is it reversible?

Yes — both sides look clean and nearly identical, making it perfect for blankets.
