Finishing & Blocking
To get that smooth, polished bookmark look:

- A light wet block works great for wool.
- If you’re using a blend, a gentle steam block can help (always test first).
Fringe (Optional)
Want to add a little extra flair? (It’s very Fearless-coded.)
- Cut fringe lengths to 7 inches
- Attach to one end (or both ends) and trim evenly

Stash Notes & Substitutions
- This bookmark is ideal for stash-busting—mini skeins, leftovers, and scraps are perfect.
- Want it wider or narrower? You can experiment, but keep the stitch pattern repeats in mind.
- If you switch yarn weights, use a needle size that creates a firm fabric so the bookmark doesn’t curl.

The garter stitch borders help prevent curling, and blocking makes a big difference.
Is this beginner-friendly?
Yes! If you can knit and purl, you can do this pattern.
What’s the best yarn for a bookmark?
Fingering-weight wool is lovely, but cotton or wool blends also work well—just aim for a firm gauge.
