Blush Ballroom Lace Dishcloth Knitting Pattern

THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS THAT SUPPORT HANDY LITTLE ME CONTENT AND FREE PATTERNS.

Looking for a dishcloth that feels a little more special, but is still practical enough for everyday use?

Blush Ballroom is knit in soft Powder Pink cotton for a romantic, polished finish that looks beautiful on the counter and works hard in the kitchen.

The stitch pattern is an easy lace repeat that creates a graceful, leaf-like design across the knitted fabric.

It’s satisfying to knit, simple to memorize, and a lovely way to try lace without it feeling overwhelming.

And because it’s worked in sturdy cotton yarn, the texture stays defined while the finished cloth remains absorbent and durable.

Inspired by Bridgerton

This pattern is part of my Bridgerton-inspired dishcloth collection, where each design is paired with a cotton yarn shade chosen to match the mood of the series: crisp neutrals, soft pastels, garden greens, and rich jewel tones.

Most of the patterns feature lace textures and easy repeats, making them quick, relaxing projects to knit while you watch the show, and a fun way to learn new stitch patterns as you go.

It’s a simple way to add a little Regency-style charm to everyday knitting.

You can get a printable version in a bundle with all 10 patterns in the collection.

Before You Get Started

  • Skill Level – Easy (Advanced beginner)
  • This dishcloth is worked flat, with a garter-stitch border and a repeating lace panel in the center.
  • The lace uses yarn overs and decreases (k2tog and ssk) to create the pattern. If you’re newer to lace, take it slowly for the first repeat; after that, it becomes very rhythmic.
  • Count your stitches after each right-side lace row if you want the calmest knitting experience (especially in the first few repeats).
  • Wet blocking is highly recommended here; it opens up the lace and helps the finished cloth sit perfectly square.

FAQ

Is this lace pattern difficult?

It’s approachable, especially because the wrong-side rows are simple (they’re mostly purl with knitted edges).

The lace detail happens on the right-side rows, and once you’ve worked the repeat a couple of times, it becomes much easier to “read” what’s happening.

Why do I need to wet block this one?

Blocking is what gives lace its “finished” look.

It helps the yarn overs open up, smooths the fabric, and makes the stitch pattern look crisp, so the motif really stands out (like it does in the photos).

How much yarn will I need?

One ball of Drops Paris is typically enough for a 10 x 10 inch cotton dishcloth, with a little extra to spare for the optional hanging loop.

Can I use a different yarn?

Yes, any worsted-weight cotton will work well.

Smooth cottons tend to show lace more clearly, which is why Drops Paris is such a good choice here.

Can I buy this pattern to print out?

Yes! You can get a printable version in a bundle with all 10 patterns in the collection.
