High Society Diamond Lace Dishcloth Knitting Pattern

THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS THAT SUPPORT HANDY LITTLE ME CONTENT AND FREE PATTERNS.

Want a dishcloth that feels a little dramatic (in the best way)?

High Society Diamond Lace is knit in rich dark purple cotton and features a bold diamond lace motif that looks instantly elegant.

Although it looks intricate, the pattern is built from repeating lace rows with simple purl rows in between, so it gets much easier once you’ve worked the first repeat.

The finished cloth is airy and textured, and the diamond design really comes to life after blocking.

Inspired by Bridgerton

This pattern is part of my Bridgerton-inspired dishcloth collection, where each design is paired with a cotton yarn shade chosen to match the mood of the series: crisp neutrals, soft pastels, garden greens, and rich jewel tones.

Most of the patterns feature lace textures and easy repeats, making them quick, relaxing projects to knit while you watch the show, and a fun way to learn new stitch patterns as you go.

It’s a simple way to add a little Regency-style charm to everyday knitting.

You can get a printable version in a bundle with all 10 patterns in the collection.

Before You Get Started

  • Skill Level – Easy (Advanced beginner)
  • This pattern uses yarn overs paired with decreases (ssk, k2tog, and sk2p) to form the diamond lace.
  • The wrong-side rows are straightforward, which helps the lace rows feel less intense.
  • If you’re new to lace, use stitch markers between repeats to make it easier to spot mistakes.
  • Wet blocking is strongly recommended to open up the lace and sharpen the diamond shapes.

FAQ

Is this lace pattern suitable for confident beginners?

Yes, if you’re comfortable with knit, purl, and basic decreases, you can manage this with a little patience.

The purl rows on the wrong side give you a breather between the lace rows, and the repeat becomes familiar quickly.

What is SK2P, and why is it used?

SK2P is a centered decrease that helps shape the diamond motif neatly.

It brings stitches together in a way that looks balanced, which is why it’s so common in diamond lace patterns.

Why does blocking matter so much for this one?

Because lace transforms when blocked.

Wet blocking opens the yarn overs, evens out the stitches, and makes the diamond pattern look crisp and intentional, especially in cotton.

Can I buy this pattern to print out?

Yes! You can get a printable version in a bundle with all 10 patterns in the collection.
