Diamond Trellis Stitch Dishcloth Knitting Pattern
THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS THAT SUPPORT HANDY LITTLE ME CONTENT AND FREE PATTERNS.Looking for a dishcloth that looks detailed but is easy to knit once you get going?
The Diamond Trellis Stitch Dishcloth creates a sweet, dimpled texture with tiny raised diamonds that give the fabric a softly quilted look.
Knit in Drops Paris cotton in Baby Pink, it’s absorbent, sturdy, and practical for everyday use, while still feeling a little romantic and special.
The texture also fits the Bridgerton mood perfectly, with that trellis-like look you might imagine in a garden walkway or stitched into something delicate and vintage-inspired.

Inspired by Bridgerton
This pattern is part of my Bridgerton-inspired dishcloth collection, where each design is paired with a cotton yarn shade chosen to match the mood of the series: crisp neutrals, soft pastels, garden greens, and rich jewel tones.
Most of the patterns feature lace textures and easy repeats, making them quick, relaxing projects to knit while you watch the show, and a fun way to learn new stitch patterns as you go.
It’s a simple way to add a little Regency-style charm to everyday knitting.

Before You Get Started
- Skill Level – Easy (Advanced beginner)
- This stitch pattern uses slipped stitches (with yarn held in front or back) to create the textured diamond effect. It’s not difficult, but it does help to read the abbreviations first.
- The K3 edges and garter borders give the dishcloth a tidy frame and help it sit nicely.
- Try to keep your tension steady when slipping stitches so the fabric doesn’t pull in too tightly.
- Wet blocking is recommended; it helps the cloth relax and shows off the texture.

FAQ
Is this pattern beginner-friendly?
Yes, especially if you’re comfortable with knit and purl.
The only “new” part is slipping stitches with the yarn held in front or back, and once you’ve done a couple of rows, it clicks quickly.
Why are we slipping stitches with the yarn in front/back?
That’s what creates the raised texture and the little diamond “dimples.”
The slipped stitches carry floats across the surface, which gives that trellis look.
My dishcloth feels a bit tight – what can I do?
Slipped-stitch patterns can tighten up if you pull the yarn too snug when moving it to the front/back.
Try relaxing your tension slightly on the slip-stitch sections, and blocking at the end will help even everything out.
Can I buy this pattern to print out?
Yes! You can get a printable version in a bundle with all 10 patterns in the collection.
