But the reader favorites are definitely the free knitting patterns!
A Year In Review
2019 was a great year for Handy Little Me, with so many of you showing your support all year round.
The site was nominated for an award from Love Crafts, which many of you voted for (thank you very much!) and there were so many free patterns published.
Including the 20 Outlander inspired designs, cardigans, hats, scarves and more.
Building A Maker Community
The Handy Little Me Knitting + Crochet Community – The Facebook group was created, with many of you joining to share your WIPs and finished items.
There were many new friends made over on Instagram and on the Handy Little Me Facebook page.
Plus more of you were visiting and showing love over on my Ravelry page too!
Business Growth
The business was really great in 2019 with traffic stats over double from 2018.
I had some trouble with finding the right people to work with, but right in front of me was my niece Dimitra who joined Handy Little Me as a rockstar VA.
Always online and with a passion for social media, she ticked all the boxes when it came to getting stuff done!
So in a quick review here is a little list of what happened for me and HLM in 2019:
- I published over 30 free patterns.
- Visitors more than doubled from 2018.
- More opportunities came my way.
- I published a free pattern on The Hook Nook Blog.
- The blog was nominated for a Craftie award from Love Crafts.
- I designed a pattern for a UK Magazine – Let’s Knit.
- I worked with 3 VA’s until I found THE ONE!
- I made lots of fibre friends through social media and other bloggers.
- I developed my design skills.
- And I bought way too much yarn!
Outlander Patterns
This year also saw me hire a professional photographer for the first time, to shoot the Outlander patterns.
I hired model and friend Nikoletta to be my Claire Fraser for the day, and she did a wonderful job!
The Outlander collection was definitely one of the highlights of the year for me.
The pattern shop was revamped this year, giving it a much-needed makeover.
I added many new PDF patterns including the popular One Skein Pattern Ebook.
The bestselling Ebook of 2019 was The Ultimate Outlander Knitting Pattern Collection – with 39 patterns inside.
