  1. This looks perfect. I’m definitely going to try it out! I do have a question.

I have a full head of dreadlocks so was wondering how do I make the top part wider. I saw the note on how to make it longer but not wider.

    Would really appreciate your help:)

    Many thanks

    1. Hello Isha,
To make the hat wider you would have to complete more rounds with further increases to make the circumference of the circle (the top of the hat) larger before you start to continue the rounds without the increases.
      I hope that helps!

  2. Thank you for sharing your pattern. This was just what I needed for an upcoming vacation. I had to go a few extra round because I’m wearing braids but otherwise it’s just what I needed to make a beautiful sun hat. I did use acrylic yarn but it still came out perfect. Again, thank you for sharing.

  4. Notes for the hat pattern state that rounds 1 to 17 are worked in a spiral on the right side. The step by step directions for the hat say to work 30 rounds or longer if needed. Are rounds 14-30 worked the same as round 13?

    1. Hello Noreen,

Rounds 14-30 are worked in single crochet only with no increases.

      I hope that helps,

      Louise
