An Easy-Level Knitting Pattern

This is an easy pattern for those of you who are advanced beginner level, and the techniques you will need to know are casting on, casting off, and knit and purl stitches.

It will also introduce you to shaping, through simple increases and decreases.

You will also need to know how to seam, as the slippers are made in one piece and need to be joined to finish.

The yarn I used to make the knitted baby booties

I used Rico Creative Cotton Aran (50g/85m/93yds) for the slippers in color Pink (08).

It does on occasion split when you knit, like most cotton but you can fix it and make it look neat with a little patience.

This is a medium-weight yarn 04, you can use double knitting yarn also for this project.

For the pom poms I used scraps of acrylic DK yarn in grey.

I don’t use cotton for poms as they never turn out right, so better to use a different yarn, like acrylic or an acrylic/wool blend.

Notes

Skill Level – Easy

The newborn booties knit up quickly, and the simple design makes for a relaxing and enjoyable knit.

They would make a great gift for a new mom and instead of the pom pom decoration you could add a bow, you can see the bow pattern here – Baby Girl Slippers Knitting Pattern.

These baby booties are great for tiny toes, as they are made to fit 0-3 months.
